Merry Christmas from the LEAD Team. The end of the year allows us to reflect on all the joy and success we have experienced. Thank you for being a part of the LEAD family.

IN THE CLASSROOM

We are grateful to have welcomed a new class of 6th graders and continued to strengthen relationships with current 7th graders at YES Prep Southside. It is a gift to share LEAD's curriculum with more than 300 students in the classroom each week.

Some of the lessons we taught included:

  • The Power of Dreams
  • Giving and Earning Respect
  • Identifying Emotions in Conflict
  • Clarifying Values

DECEMBER'S AMBASSADOR SATURDAY

Our former students and alumni frequently join us for Ambassador Saturdays. It was such a pleasure to welcome families and friends for a holiday celebration filled with crafts, games, and food.

Thank you, Schlumberger, for providing gingerbread houses, ornament kits, a catered meal, and a service project to support military abroad during the holiday season. We are grateful for your partnership.

In true LEAD fashion, we invited families to gather around the table and engage in social emotional learning. It was inspiring to hear what families are looking forward to this holiday as we discussed:

  • Which dishes are you most looking forward to?
  • What are some of your family traditions?
  • What is a part of your culture that you hope to continue as an adult?

SUPPORT LEAD

Thanks for all you do to support our youth. Because of your generosity, LEAD was able to expand the number of students we serve in the classroom and expose our youth to a number of new activities during our Ambassador Saturdays. Our experiences included tackling and horseback riding at Williams Ranch, financial literacy at Bernstein Private Wealth Management, and providing food to more than 300 families with the Houston Food Bank at Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and more!

Without LEAD, our youth lack access and opportunity to expand their vision and achieve their dreams. Will you consider including LEAD in your year end giving?

LEAD prepares youth for success by providing life skills and exposure to new opportunities.

We inspire vision, empathy, and tenacity.
